
Sheikh Hamad is President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), having first worked as President of the Technical Committee (Jan 2006 - Jan 2013) and then becoming a Member of the QFA Board.

Today, not only is Sheikh Hamad QFA President, but he holds the equally coveted position of Chairman of the star-studded Qatar Stars League (QSL).
Al-Thani earned his BA from the Qatar University in Physical Education.
Al-Thani is elected president of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, and president of the Qatar Football Association since 2015, prior to being president he was the vice president of the QFA (Jan 2013 - Dec 2014).
