Qatar 2022: Eco-Friendly

Qatar2022 Bid Logo

The Qatar 2022 Bid fits perfectly with the nation’s existing strategy of moving into a low-carbon future.

Qatar is committed to developing new green technologies that will shape the world of tomorrow.

A prime example is the Qatar Science & Technology Park, which offers a home for technology-based companies from around the world and an incubator for start-ups. By providing premises and services, the QSTP is attracting companies and entrepreneurs, empowering them to develop and commercialise their new technologies in Qatar.

Qatar has likewise invested heavily in international clean-tech funds, and also envisages establishing a low-carbon research centre in Doha. At the same time, it is encouraging collaboration between the oil industry and local universities to find new solutions for an energy efficient future.

In this way, the push into renewable energies will enable it to offer a new type of World Cup™ that uses only low-carbon energy sources to cool and power stadiums, training facilities and fan zones.
