The Times: Blatter at the top of its Sport Power 100 list

Blatter in Press Conference

British newspaper The Times has named FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter at the top of its Sport Power 100 list.

In a year which saw the FIFA 2010 World Cup™ in South Africa, the first time it has set foot on the continent, and announced the hosts of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, there is no doubt it has been a big 12 months for FIFA and Mr. Blatter himself. The list compiles the individuals who the 225-year-old newspaper feels are the 100 most influential people in the sporting world.

"His reach extends through all parts of the national game from the England team and the Premier League to the amateur leagues and park kick-abouts and, this year more than any, he has left an indelible footprint on our sporting landscape," wrote the newspaper.
